Day 9: Travels & An Incident [Sucre, Bolivia 2017]

Arrived in Panama City around 7am, left for Houston around 9:45. Arrived in Houston, cleared immigration, then spent 3 hours stuck in the baggage claim area before customs because of a very bad thunderstorm. Proceeded to freak out a little and get into survival mode. Eventually, everyone made it through and I started freaking out about how I was going to get to Notre Dame.

When I say goodbye to my teammates, hugging each one turn-by-turn, I already feel some heartache of perfect times over. When I arrive at my gate, C11, and sit down at an iPad-equipped high table, it hits me like thunder.

Day 4: Evangelism^2 [Sucre, Bolivia 2017]

Hola amigos!

Today was a full day of door-to-door evangelism with the nationals.

Breakfast and headed to church like yesterday. We had a short prayer and PG explained vitamin stuff, then we broke into 4 groups and went on separate routes. Carmen and I worked with Erminia and her children. We talked to several families—several were Catholic and unswerving, others were unable to go to church because of health and wanted to attend a church before deciding on Christianity, etc. Continue reading

Day 3: Training/Evangelism + Church [Sucre, Bolivia 2017]

Hi friends!

Today was very very very busy, i.e. nonstop… in good ways 🙂

First, woke up at 7, then promptly fell back asleep until 7:30. Was slightly exhausted. Breakfast with team, then left with translators for our church around 8:45. The morning was going to be evangelism, but there were Jehovah’s Witnesses walking the streets at that exact time, so Pastor Fernando had us switch around our schedule. Interesting to remember that other religions/cults also do evangelism globally. Continue reading
